Chicago CEO Breakfasts
At quarterly breakfasts, The Executives’ Club introduces the Chicago business community to CEOs who have recently taken the helm of multinational corporations headquartered in the metropolitan area or who have recently relocated their companies to the Windy City. Not only do the Chicago CEO Breakfasts showcase the innovative strategies on which these talented CEOs rely to remain competitive, they also help build and maintain a sense of community, even as that community grows and changes. Recent speakers have included Greg Brown, Chairman & CEO, Motorola Solutions and Barney Harford, CEO, Orbitz.
Business Technology Leadership Series
The Executives’ Club’s quarterly Business Technology Leadership Conferences convene leaders of established companies and start-ups to address technology strategy, innovation, return on investment, outsourcing, and security, with particular emphasis on leveraging technology to revitalize the regional economy. The conferences present interactive panels of CIOs, CEOs of emerging technology ventures, and senior IT consultants. The fall conference is highlighted by presentation of the CIO of the Year Award, conferred jointly by The Executives’ Club and the Association of Information Technology Professionals to honor CIOs whose exceptional leadership drives business value, enhances customer service, builds business partnerships, and improves organizational effectiveness.
Women's Leadership Breakfasts
Launched in 2004, The Executives’ Club’s quarterly Women’s Leadership Breakfasts have become Chicago’s largest speakers’ forum dedicated to the needs and interests of business and professional women. These breakfast programs regularly attract 1,100-1,200 people – primarily women – for panel discussions among remarkable women who are role models of success. Each breakfast is organized around a theme (e.g., how women are redefining leadership, the importance of establishing a personal brand, the role of social responsibility and community service to career planning) relevant to women from diverse fields, and speakers are selected for their capacity to impart lessons of value to women at varying stages in their careers. Recent breakfasts have included women leaders from ComEd, Cardinal Health, Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP and CDW Corporation.
New Leaders Circle
The Executives’ Club of Chicago aims to be the premiere organization for developing young, diverse, globally and civic-minded thought leaders for Chicagoland corporations and institutions. The New Leaders Circle addresses a powerful, unmet need among our two key constituencies: Chicagoland Corporate and Institutional Leadership, and New Leaders under 40. In partnering with corporate leaders, the New Leaders Circle cultivates emerging leaders through unprecedented access to corporate Chicago executives, unique development and mentoring opportunities, and a sense of community – a new leadership peer group. The three key functions of the New Leaders Circle are the Board of Directors, the Mentorship Program and the Leadership Development Program Series.
Committees
The Executives’ Club’s eight committees help connect members with the people and issues most influential to their businesses. Co-chaired by Club members and sponsored by leading companies in related fields, these committees develop and present breakfast briefings where local, national, and global thought leaders explore cutting edge issues and where members can network with others who share their special interests. The Club’s current committees include: Civic Affairs, Communications, Finance, International, Professional, Real Estate, Reception, and Technology.
Forums, Summits, and Trade & Investment Programs
In response to the rapid pace of change in the political, economic, industrial, and commercial landscape, The Executives’ Club periodically hosts conferences that focus on specific issues, regions, and populations driving these changes. Club forums have addressed global sustainability, health care reform, and U.S. trade relations with the European Union and Mercosur nations.
